Sometimes it just "clicks"

The wind stops, a tired baby smiles, and gorgeous snowflakes rain down. Ahhh - a bit of luck. I just can't decide which version I like best!

Sometimes I forget to share the best things!

I'm trying to update more frequently (thank you to the loyal blog readers for prodding me!) and I do wish I could share images from every session! Once I find a way to add more hours into the day, it will be the first thing I do - promise!

This session was actually from a while back - so much so that I've already had another session with these adorable brothers - and I recently realized that I'd failed to share *any* of their images. Yikes. So here we go...

But wait - that's not the best part! :)

I *love* the messages I get post-sessions from parents. I try not to delete any of them because they remind me of why I adore my job. This one really warmed my heart and I know I'll keep it for a long while...

Hi Stacy--

I am stunned. Amazing. I can't believe these moving images came from that
session with my... shall we say, less-than-cooperative boys! You did an
incredible job.

I was going to say I was speechless, but that is not the case. I have much
to say. Mainly, that you are a true artist. Your slideshow said it was a
"glimpse" into Jack and Ben, and it really was. Somehow, you managed to
capture Jack's personality on film, which I thought was a humanly impossible
task. He always is so serious around the camera. Which is partly who he
is, but not completely. And it's like you were able to fill in the rest of
him. 10 years from now when he's a teenager and not talking to his parents
for a while (!), I will look back on these photos and be reminded of exactly
who he was at 3 years of age. (OK-- I'm tearing up right now!).

And Ben... what can I say. Somehow you captured my reliably-happy 9 month
old, instead of his evil twin, who was the one who actually showed up at the
photo session that day :).

I am overwhelmed. It is KILLING me not to show my husband the slideshow this very
minute. But I will try and keep my mouth shut until his birthday party. He
will just die.

Eternally grateful for your ability to see inside two unpredictable little
boys--
S.

A confession...

One thing that I get asked a lot is my favorite age for photographs. And, as a mom myself, I have to admit (honestly!) that I want to remember and cherish *every* age! And coupled with the fact that every age and stage has its own perks and difficulties, there really is no wrong time for a photo session. But...if I had to nail down the age that I get most excited to shoot, it would have to be 6-9 mos. Sitting-up-but-not-yet-crawling is heaven for creating artistic photos, and let's face it, every 7 month old has a wide eyed innocence that can melt anyone!

Little Stella was no exception with her cuteness, but she did have one skill that I haven't seen before. She was so excited at the beginning of our shoot that she waved her arms frantically! I had a hard time keeping her in focus with all of the motion, but sure enough, it was adorable!

I have a gazillion favorites from her session, but I have to leave some as a surprise! :)

Stunning

I really enjoy watching my young clients grow and change between their sessions, and little Nya is no exception. However, it was amazing just how much she has grown since our session last spring - without her stunning blue eyes I might not have recognized her!
